Technology overview
3LCD technology — for quality and color that’s beyond amazing
3LCD technology delivers amazing color and detail. Whether it’s
big-screen entertainment or a classroom demonstration, 3LCD
technology takes video performance to the next level. Delivering
legendary image quality, this innovative technology always
ensures powerful visual presentations.
- Color — 3LCD technology goes far beyond ordinary color.
“Clear”, “rich” and “vibrant” barely begin to describe the
incredible depth and brilliance it delivers. The impact is
stunning. It’s an astonishing level of realism you never
thought possible.
- Reliability — 3LCD technology is durable and dependable.
Road-tested by millions of projector users around the world,
it has been used in more projection products than any other.
Over 40 million chips used in projectors and RPTV products
have been put to the test in home theaters, classrooms,
sales presentations and on stage.
- Detail — 3LCD technology offers extraordinary detail.
And detail is what superior image quality is all about —
from movies to your most important presentations. 3LCD light
engines deliver incredible, jaw-dropping detail — the kind
that puts you right in the middle of where the action is.
Color and white light output*
With Epson projectors, your presentations are sure to shine
bright. The Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 7500 UB delivers 1600
lumens*, whether you’re projecting deep, colorful images or
bright, white scenes. You get consistent light output, whatever
you’re projecting. And, with Epson, you can be confident you’re
getting exactly what you need because Epson measures white light
output according to the ISO 21118 standard, a more rigid
standard than the maximum or outdated ANSI lumens rating used by
competitive products.
OptiCinema™ lens system
The OptiCinema lens system is a precision, high-quality
optical grade system. Co-developed with Fujinon, the number two
supplier of precision camera optics to the world’s leading HD
camera makers, this system offers the following benefits:
- Maximum picture uniformity
- Clarity across the entire screen
- An imperceptible lens flare (less than five percent)
- No chromatic aberrations or fringing
- Precision focus, zoom and horizontal/vertical lens shift
Deep, dark blacks
Achieve the deepest blacks possible with an incredible
75,000:1 contrast ratio, UltraBlack technology and Epson’s
exclusive Vertical Alignment (VA) LCD technology. With VA LCD
technology, opaque (black) is the natural state. Signal voltage
is applied to increase translucence (transmittance) as needed.
This is a fundamental design and performance advantage — a
complete re-thinking of LCD panel design. Conventional LCDs use
Twisted Nematic panels, which are translucent in their natural
state. Signal voltage is applied to reduce light throughput, but
the inability to achieve correct Liquid Crystal alignment means
that true black is impossible to achieve, as there will always
be some leakage. VA technology is fundamentally correct, and is
the only way to achieve true, deep blacks since the molecules
align uniformly with no stray light leakage.
Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX processor
The HQV Silicon Optix processor is the reference standard in
deinterlacing and scaling. Its Floating Point Gate Array
technology realizes an incredible one trillion processing
operations per second. In fact, this system provides a host of
processing, deinterlacing and scaling benefits. And, it delivers
true four-field pixel-by-pixel processing, even with 1080i/60 Hz
HD program material. With standard definition (SD) and high
definition (HD) interlaced content (DVDs, TV shows, 1080i HDTV
broadcasts), the Reon VX eliminates jagged edges on low-angle
solid lines and flat edges. MPEG compression-related artifacts,
such as mosquito noise, are banished due to the Reon’s
processing prowess. MPEG compression works via 8x8 pixel blocks
— Reon VX block-noise reduction eliminates block noise
artifacts, restoring a natural picture. For poor contrast image
sources, such as SD broadcast, cable and video tape, Reon VX
provides three user-selectable levels of contrast enhancement.
FineFrame interpolation processing technology
Film is encoded on DVD and Blu-ray at 24 frames-per-second.
FineFrame de-constructs and re-constructs these sources for a
1080p frame rate output of up to 120 Hz, eliminating visible
flicker and frame-to-frame judder. The 4:4 pulldown function
also makes corrections for improperly-encoded sources, and
features a reverse 2:3 pulldown detection-and-correction
function.
Anamorphic Widescreen Mode
The aspect ratio for traditional TV is 1.33:1 (4:3), while
it is 1.78:1 (16:9) for HDTV and 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 for many Blu-ray
movies. When content is played back on an HDTV 1.78:1 (16:9)
screen, the viewer sees black bars above and below the picture
image. Anamorphic Widescreen (vertical stretch) Mode fills the
16:9 imaging area, pushing black bars out of the viewing area.
When used with an anamorphic lens assembly in this mode, the
full, original theatrical aspect ratio is restored (i.e., the
entire screen is filled with the image). And, all imaging pixels
are used, resulting in a brighter picture.
Color isolation
In order to adjust color (saturation) and tint (hue) using
SMPTE color bars, users typically need a blue gel filter,
supplied with some, but not all, test discs. However, with this
innovative feature, adjustments can be made without using any
filters since color isolation provides blue-only and red-only
modes.
Color space selection
With color space selection, users can select from three
different color gamuts, according to the program material and
location:
- SMPTE-C (Rec. 601) for SD (U.S.A./Canada, other NTSC
markets)
- EBU (PAL) for Europe
- HD (Rec. 709) for HDTV (all regions)
White point is correct, D65 (6,504˚ Kelvin), for all three.
This feature allows colors to be reproduced using the same
standard that was applied when the film was originally made, so
the result is just as the filmmaker intended.
Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) certification
Certified by the ISF, the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 7500 UB has
been built to the strictest video standards. Calibration tools
include multiple picture memories, and lockout to prevent
accidental post-calibration user misadjustments. ISF Day and
Night modes are available.
Energy-efficient E-TORL lamp
The innovative E-TORL lamp, exclusively from Epson, is a
reliable performer that delivers more lumens per watt and lasts
up to 4000 hours.** Switch the projector to High Brightness Mode
and the E-TORL lamp still produces up to 4000 hours of light
performance. The special E-TORL design minimizes both light
defraction and light leakage, providing you the ultimate in lamp
longevity — up to 50 percent more lamp life than with
competitive products. And, E-TORL replacement lamps cost up to
$150 less than competing replacement lamps. So, while the E-TORL
lamp maximizes your presentation time, it also minimizes your
costs.
* Light output varies depending on modes
(color and white light output).
** Lamp life results will vary depending upon mode selected,
environmental conditions and usage. Lamp brightness decreases
over time.
